Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve spalling resistance without degrading corrosion resistance by forming the inside circumferetial part of a nozzle of unburned refractories and the outside circumferential part of burned refractories. CONSTITUTION:A nozzle 1 for continuous casting is made into the constitution consisting of the two layers wherein the inside circumferential part 2 is formed of unburned refractories 4 over the entire surface thereof or most thereof and that the outside circumferential part 3 is formed of burned refractories. The unburned refractories 4 used for the part 2 of the nozzle 1 are zirconia-graphite base, magnesia- grahite base or molten silica base including alumina graphite base, and are of the relatively coarse particle compounding with particular emphasis upon spalling resistance. The burned refractories 5 constituting the outside circumferential part of the nozzle 1 are alumina-graphite base, zirconia-grahite base, magensia-graphite base, fused silica base, etc. like with the unburned refractories 4, and are of the relatively fine particle compounding with particular emphasis on corrosion resistance.
