Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a simple structure, scale-free, highly efficient electrolytic treatment equipment, a rotary shaft in the bath is provided with a number of alternate disk electrodes as anode and cathodes.
CONSTITUTION: Disk electrodes 2 arranged in the electrolytic bath 6 are used for electrolytic treatment of waste water. The disk electrodes 2 are alternately fixed to the rotary shaft 1 at proper intervals so that the disks 2 insulated from the shaft 1 and operate as anodes 3 and cathodes 4. Voltage is applied to the electrodes through insulated lead wire arranged to the shaft 1, while rotating the electrodes 2 at peripheral speed of about 1m/sec or more, preferably 5W20m/sec. When a number of electrode groups 5 are arranged in the direction of liquid flow, electrolyte is certain to stay in the electric field for enough time required for electrolytic treatment. When a number of electrode group 5 is arranged at right angle to the direction of liquid flow, or in vertical direction, a volume of treatment is made possible. The process prevents the surface of the electorode 2 from scale deposition and permits dissolved mixture to undergo an effective electrolysis, coagulation, and floating up.
