Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve operation, starting performance and other performances of LPG internal combustion engine, by preventing fuel flow rate from being reduced in low- and medium-speed operational range of engine due to the sticking of tar to an idle port, idling fuel measuring means and by-pass port.
CONSTITUTION: A mixer for LPG internal combustion engine, of this invention, comprises a mixing chamber 1 and a throttle chamber 2. In the mixing chamber 1, there are provided a venturi 4 formed with main orifice 3 for injecting fuel into the mixing chamber 1 at the time of medium- and high-speed operation of the engine, and a fuel inlet port 5 for introducing fuel from vaporizer. In the throttle chamber 2, on the other hand, there is provided a throttle valve 6 which is linked with a shut-off valve 8 disposed in high-speed fuel line 7 and operated to prevent injection of fuel from venturi 4 during low-speed operation of engine. In such an arrangement, fuel metering means 11 for metering fuel flow in low-speed fuel feed line is disposed at an upper end portion far away from idle port 12, and the area of idle port 12 is made larger than that of throttle portion of metering means 11, whereby it is prevented that that fuel flow rate is decreased due to sticking of tar after an extended use.
