Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a carburetor, in which an enlarged chamber is provided in the fuel passage located upstreams of the mixing chamber to delay the time when fuel supply from the coasting nozzle is started slightly with respect to the time when supply of air is started, whereby misfiring at the time of deceleration can be prevented and amount of HC discharged to the outside can be reduced.
CONSTITUTION: Means for supplying addition mixture comprises a coasting nozzle 24 opened downstreams of throttle valve 17, air bleed 26, coasting fuel supplying jet 28, enlarged chamber 30, mixing chamber 32, and diaphragm 36 for operating the additional mixture supplying means only at the time of deceleration. At the time of deceleration, pressure in the intake manifold is lowered, and valve 38 of diaphragm valve 36 is opened so that air is supplied to mixing chamber 32 while its flow rate being measured by air bleed 26. Fuel, on the other hand, is filled in the enlarged chamber 30 while its flow rate being measured by fuel jet 28, and flows into the mixing chamber 32 with some delay. Accordingly, only air is supplied from nozzle 24, so that formation of over-rich mixture can be prevented
