Abstract

PURPOSE:To make easy the skew correction for digital head, by changing the production timing of the skew correction signal, through the change in the frequency of the variable frequency oscillator. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic head 2 consists of a plurality of unit heads, e.g., H1-H9. Further, the data from the delivery lines L1-L9 is respectively inputted to the latch circuits D1-D9 in synchronous with the reference clock pulse and fed to the timing adjustment FF circuits FF1-FF9. On the other hand, the output of the variable frequency oscillator 5 controlled with the FF circuit 3 is inputted to the register 6 possible for left and right shift to output the skew correction signal from the parallel output terminals Q1-Q5 sequentially. When this signal is respectively fed to a given circuit FF of the circuits FF1-FF9, the data in skew correction is inputted to the heads H1-H9. By changing the frequency of the oscillator 5, the production timing of correction signal can be adjusted. Thus, the skew correction can easily be made with a simple circuit.
