Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the displacement of the elastic material belt itself and achieve the improvement in the resolving power of images by so constituting the device that the speed of feed rollers is made slightly slower than the conveying speed of the belt and becomes equal when the photoreceptor is attracted to the elastic belt.
CONSTITUTION: The peripheral speed of feed rollers 15 is set at the speed slightly slower than the peripheral speed of an elastic belt 20 so that a photoreceptor 11 is prevented from floating on an elastic material belt 20. Hence, when the photoreceptor 11 advances while being attracted onto the elastic material belt 20, the conveying speed of the photoreceptor 11 becomes faster than the peripheral speed of the feed rollers 15. As a result, the feed rollers 15 become free to a sprocket 27 owing to the action of one-way clutch 29 and their speed becomes equal to the conveying speed of the photoreceptor 11. Since in this way the force for extending the elastic material belt 20 does not occur at the time when the elastic material belt 20 has stopped and therefore, displacing of the elastic material belt 20 after stopping does not occur and the occurrence of out-of-focus phenomenon may be prevented.
