Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to efficiently cool without breaking down the core due to static pressure of molten steel, by mounting several reinforcing ribs by which the inside of the steel pipe at the inside of the core and the outside of the steel pipe at the gas passage for cooling the core are coupled and supported in the direction of the pipe radius.
CONSTITUTION: Between the second steel pipe 7 which forms the inside of the core 3 and the third steel pipe 10 which is a leading-in pipe of the gas 12 for cooling the core are mounted several reinforcing ribs 15 in its radial direction. The number of ribs 15 is ralated to thickness of the pipe 7, but 4W6 pieces are desirable. Since the ribs 15 are mounted only for supporting the space between the pipe 7 and the pipe 10 in the radial direction, it is unnecessary to fix them by means of welding, etc. In addition to the devision number of the gas passage 4 between the pipes 7 and 10, thickness of the pipe 7 which is able to stand static pressure of molten steel, and also for which it is desired to make it as thin as possible from the viewpoint of its cooling effect, and furthermore the whole section area of the gas passage 4 can be decided.
