Abstract
PURPOSE: To make a fine hollow part with high accuracy by making the base material by a wax-form material at the time of manufacturing the electrode having the fine hollow part for electric discharge or electrolytic machining by an electrocasting method.
CONSTITUTION: Melt of a wax-form material such as solid ester and paraffin composed of high-grade fatty acids and higher monohydric alcohol is dropped onto a rotary disc 6 whose surfaces are covered with fluorine resins and which has been heated, whereby the melt is formed to a uniform thickness. After this heating of the disc 6 is ceased and the disc is cooled to form the thin plate 8 of paraffin. Next, nearly the same shape as that of the hollow part 3 is cut out from the thin plate 8 and a metal film 9 is evaporated through vacuum evaporation on the entire outside surface, which is then subjected to conduction treatment, whereby a base material 10 is made. A plating film 11 of 0.15mm thick is formed on the surface of this base material, after which the thin plate 8 portions composed of the paraffin 5 are heated to melt and are thereby removed. The plating film 11 becomes an outside shell part 2, whereby a hollow electrode 1 is manufactured.
