Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable the traget for X-ray tube to be used stably over a long period of time by subjecting the substrate of molybdenum to hot degassing treatment in a vacuum of high temperature.
CONSTITUTION: After molybdenum powder is compaction-formed, this molding is hot sintered at 2000 to 2500 °C in a vacuum. At this time, this is accomplished at a drgree of vaccum of preferably more than 10-3 torr in order to enhance gas emissivity. The Mo sintered body obtained in this way is forged to form a plate form body of a high density. Molybdenum paste is deposited between the plate form body of Mo obtained in this way and a plate form body of w and both are bonded by hot-pressing or the like and the plate form is fabricated to disc form. Further the disc is subjected to heat treatment at above 2000°C in a vacuum. Hence, the gas remained in the disc body is emitted and the target which will not cause blackening and abnormal discharge and cause less attenuation of X-ray generation despite long term use may be obtained
