Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a hot-cathod featuring a high heat efficiency and excellent quick acting property by coating the paste composed of the heat-resistance metal powder or the like and the binder onto the insulating substrate and then fusing the paste with irradiation of the laser beam and the like and then solidification given to form the heater.
CONSTITUTION: Insulating substrate 1, featuring a disk shape, contains groove 11 on its surface. The paste composed of the organic binder and the heat-resistance metal powder is coated along groove 11 and in a fixed thickness. This paste is irradiated by the laser beam or the electron beam to be fused and then solidifed. As a result, heater 2 is buried into groove 11 on substrate 1 and at nearly the same level as the surface of the substrate. And the spot welding is given to the Ni plate of a fixed thickness at the center part of heater 2 in order to form cathod-type substrate 3. Then electron discharge material layer 4 is coated on substrate 3. In such way, a hot-cathode can be obtained with a high heat efficiency and excellent quick acting property.
