Abstract

PURPOSE: To suitably pick up excellent binary signal pulse, by improving the effect of sag and level variation of video signal, through the selection of the charging and discharge time constant of the peak detector suitably.
CONSTITUTION: The video signal from the terminal 2 is fed to the + input terminal of the differential level comparator by dividing it with the first rate at the divider consisting of the resistors 3 and 4. Video signal inputted from the terminal 2 is given to the peak detector 9 consisting of the resistor 6, diode 7, capacitor 8. The detector 9 has sufficiently smaller charging time constant than at the horizontal scanning period, and the discharge time constant is set sufficiently smaller than the vertical blanking period and greater than the horizontal scanning period. Thus, the video signal voltage in peak detection is divided with the second ratio with the resistors 10 and 11 and given to - side of the comparator 5. Further, DC reference voltage 12 is divided with the third ratio by the resistors 10 and 12 and fed to the - side of the comparator 5 for bias superimposingly. The output signal slicing the signal at the + terminal with the reference voltage at the - terminal is picked up from the terminal 13.
