Abstract

PURPOSE: To suitably pick up excellent binary signal pulse, by improving the effect of sag and level variation of video signal, by suitably selecting the charging and discharge time constant of the level detector.
CONSTITUTION: The video signal 1 at the terminal 2 is inputted to the + terminal of the comparator 5 with the voltage division at the first ratio with the resistors 3 and 4 and also given to the level detector 9 (consisting of resistor 6, FET 7, and capacitor 8). The charging time constant of the detector 9 is set sufficiently smaller than horizontal scanning period, and the discharge time constant is set sufficiently greater than horizontal ascanning period and smaller than the vertical blanking period. Sampling pulse is inputted to FET 7 from the signal source 15 to sample-hold the horizontal back porch of the video signal. This voltage is divided into the second ratio with the resistors 10 and 11 and given to the - side of the comparator 5. Further, the DC dreference voltage 15 is divided with the third ratio at the resistors 10 and 11 and superimposed on the - side to the slice reference level. With this constitution, the comparator 5 picks up the output signal slicing the + terminal signal with the reference voltage fed to the - terminal, from the terminal 13.
