Abstract
PURPOSE: To detect the air-fuel ratio always satisfactorily by using as a reference voltage the voltage which is prepared by detecting the voltage at a connection between an air-fuel ratio sensor and a resistor upon a preset time and by averaging the detected voltages.
CONSTITUTION: When the voltage VA at a connection A becomes lower than a reference voltage VS by a voltage generating circuit 37, the level of a comparator circuit 33 is inverted to turn off an analog switch 109 so that a capacitor 108 starts its charging operation. This termianl voltage VB correcponds to the voltage VA, and its minimum value is detected and held so that it is fed through an A-D converter 110 to an averaging circuit 111. This circuit 111 determines the averaged minimum voltage value from the average values of N times, and the voltage value is subjected to functional modulation by an ROM 112 into a new reference voltage level FS so that it is fed through a D-A converter 113 to the circuit 33. Thus, it is possible to detect the air-fuel ratio satisfactorily without any influence from the ambient temperature and the aging change.
