Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture air-crushed slag of constant quality, by controlling the lifting speed of an auxiliary hoist which slants a slag pan according to the signal of measured weight of the slag pan so as to keep constant the weight-changing rate of the slag contained in the slag pan. CONSTITUTION:Molten slag 4 is transferred to a slag spout 3 by slanting the slag pan by means of an auxiliary hoist 7. The quantity of the slag transferred to the spout 3 is found as a weight change by means of a load cell type weighing device 8 installed in a crane, the weight change rate dW/dt being computed by an arithmetic unit 9. The computed dW/dt is compared with previously set dW/dt 11 by means of a dW/dt control unit 10, and a command for increasing or decreasing the lifting speed of the auxiliary hoist 7 is given from the unit 10 to the driving unit 12 of the auxiliary hoist motor 13 so as to keep the compared value constant. The speed of revolution of the auxiliary hoist motor 13 is controlled according to the command to control the lifting speed of the auxiliary hoist 7. As the result, the quantity of slag 4 fed to the spout 3 is kept constant. Hereby, the slag is mixed with air sprayed from a blower 2 which is previously controlled at a constant air quantity to form a air-crushed slag 14, which is piled up on the yard 1 as particles.
