Abstract

PURPOSE: To keep constant the properties of each batch of powdery coke to be supplied into a blast furnace, by controlling the delivery of the powdery material so that only the powdery material to be next delivered remains on a conveyor when the weight of the material in a hopper reaches a set value and the conveyor stops.
CONSTITUTION: The powdery material in a feeder 2A is charged into a hopper 4. A weighing device 6 detects the middle weighed value Wo of the material and enters the value into a calcultion circuit 9. The circuit 9 calculates the time of stoppage of the feeder 2A and sends out a stoppage instruction signal through a circuit 11 and determines the time of driving of another feeder 2B. When a 95% weighed quantity signal W95 is generated, the speed of a conveyor 3 is lowered to heighten the accuracy of the weighing. When a 100% weighed quantity signal W100 is generated, the conveyor 3 is stopped and the powdery material in the hopper 4 is delivered into a blast furnace. After that, charging from the feeder 2B is started. According to this method, only the powdery material to be next delivered remains on the conveyor 3 when the present delivery is stopped. The properties of each batch are thus kept constant.
