Abstract

PURPOSE: To lessen load loss by winding a transformer tap coil onto a steel core leg separately from a main coil.
CONSTITUTION: Main coils 2 and 3 are wound onto a steel core leg 1a, and a displacement switching tap coil, consisting of a loose tap coil 15a and titht tap coil 15b, is wound onto another steel core leg 1b separately from the steel core 1a and connected to the main coil 3 in series. A tap exciting coil 4 is wound onto the steel core leg 1b and connected to the main coil 2 in parallel. If the tap range is 1±P, number of coil of the main coil 3 is to become 1-P changing the main coil's VA to (1-P)VA, and it becomes 1VA at the bottom tap with the load loss of approximately (1-P)2, and therefore, it is possible to lessen load loss at the time of tap changing under load.
