Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce ohmic loss and stray loss and also increase the capacity of the transfer switching system by providing coarsely tapped windings adjacent to the ends of a high voltage main winding and providing densely tapped windings on the outer periphery of the high voltage main winding.
CONSTITUTION: A high voltage main windling 1 is concentrically wound on the outer side of a low voltage winding 7 wound on a core 8, a central tap of the high voltage main winding is connected to a high voltage terminal, coarsely tapped windings 2 are provided adjacent to the opposite ends of the high voltage main winding, and densely tapped windings 3 are provided on the outer side of the high voltage main winding. With this construction, even in case of a large-capacity unit or when the scope of tapping is increased, disturbance of the magnetic flux at the ends of the winding is comparatively little, and it is possible to increase the scope of the transfer switching system up to about double the capacity of the structure where all the tapped windings are provided adajcent to one end of a high voltage main winding. Further, since only coarsely tapped windings are wound adjacent to the ends of the high voltage main winding, ohmic loss and stray loss are reduced.
