Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve oxidation-resistance against bivalent silver oxide anode by employing a separator made of an oxidation resistant porous film where inorganic fine powder is contained in a resin not associated with hydrophilic group and where surfactant and organic hydrophilic group are not contained. CONSTITUTION:The separator 7 to be located between cathode 3 and anode 5 mainly composed of bivalent silver oxide is composed of an oxidation resistant porous film where inorganic fine powder such as Al2O3, MgO is contained in a resin such as polyethylen, poly-propylen, poly-buthene or their copolymer not associated with hydrophilic group. Consequently the electrolyte can be absorved well into the micro holes of separator without requiring hydrophilic resin or surfactant, while simultaneously the conductivity, oxidation resistance and alkali resistance are also improved to maintain the anode active material stable resulting in a silver oxide cell having excellent stability and heavy load discharging characteristic.
