Abstract

PURPOSE: To protect a conveying system and surely close an auxiliary valve by its own weight, by automatically switching a buffer for the closing of the auxiliary valve to put the buffer out of operation when the detected value of the closing speed of a main valve is lower than a setpoint.
CONSTITUTION: When a pump is stopped, a valve casing passage is closed by the main valve 11. The through hole of the main valve 11 is then slowly closed by the auxiliary valve 13. A cylindrical shaft 9 coupled to the main valve 11 extends out of a valve casing. A mechanism 22 for detecting the opening speed of the main valve 11 is provided on the outer end of the cylindrical shaft 9 and electrically connected with a control valve 20, thereby forming a control mechanism. The setpoint for the closing speed of the main valve is lower than the closing speed for the ordinary stopping of the pump. When the detected closing speed of the main valve 11 is higher than the setpoint, the control valve 20 is automatically and reversibly closed to switch the buffer 14 into operation.
