Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide a large output silent discharge electrode pair composed of a first long electrode formed along the direction of gas flow and a pair of second electrodes at the same potential and having parallel surfaces along the direction of gas flow, through a rise in energy efficiency, by disposing the first electrode on the upper side of gas stream then the second electrode. CONSTITUTION:This gas laser device is composed of grounding electrodes 21a and 21b spaced apart from each other and a metal electrode 22 disposed therebetween and covered with a derivative 23 and provided with rectangular section, and connected to a high voltage power source while cooling it with water. At this juncture, the electrode 22 is placed at the upper side of gas stream without having been faced with the electrodes 21a and 21b. As the result, excited molecules along the derivative 23 are forced to flow into laser cut portions due to gas flow, thus resulting in the improvement of energy efficiency and stabilized large outputs.
