Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain crystals of large shape industrially, by combining the stationary crystallization and agitating crystallization.
CONSTITUTION: Using a crystallization tank designed to cool from outside or having a cooling surface inside, the solution containing crystal sontents is cooled and crystalized under stationary state without rotating the aditator, and 3 to 30%wt. of the crystal contents is precipitated, and is then further cooled and crystallized under agitating state. After finishing stationary crystallization, the wall surface of the crystallization tank is once heated to a temperature slightly higher than the temperature at the end of stationary crystallization, by e.g., 0.5 to 2°C, so as to facilitate releasing of crystals sticking on the wall surface. Then, agitating and releasing, the solution is further cooled in agitating state and crystallized. Thus, crystals of large shape are partly produced by stationary cystallization, and are filtered and separated.
