Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve efficiency of disc brake by providing hydraulic disc brake with mechanical disc that works in conjuction with the hydraulic brake when it works. CONSTITUTION:When a brake pedal is depressed, a hydraulic cylinder of a hydraulid disc brake is applied with oil pressure via a flexible hose 13, and an unshown friction pad is driven to effect friction to a disc rotor 3 which rotates to the direction of the arrow 10 in conjunction with wheels: thus brake effect is obtained. The revolving power is delivered to an input mechanism of a mechanical disc brake via a link 5 connected to a link pin 14 fixed at an adequate position of a support 8 of the disc brake 4. Thus a lever 6 is rotated to drive a friction pad of the mechanical disc brake and applies friction to the rotor 3.
