Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a mechanical type hydraulically controlled disc brake with a great braking effect, by providing a pair of friction pads to the forward ends of scissors type levers, and an actuating mechanism including a cylinder to the rearward ends thereof. CONSTITUTION:Bearing sections 5a, 5a' of a pair of seesaw type levers 5, 5' are pivoted by an anchor pin 1 that is mounted to the main body through a support member, and a closed end 4'a of the cylinder 4 is pivotaged on the pin 1. When the cylinder 4 is actuated to extend the piston 10, the ends 5d, 5'd of the rearward lever sections 5c, 5'c are spread through an actuating pin 11 and a pair of brackets 13, 13', and at the same time the forward lever sections 5b, 5'b are moved toward each other. Thus, the friction pads 8, 8 set on the insides of the forward lever sections 5b, 5'b clamp the outer circumferential section 3a of the rotor 3 that is being rotated to apply brake thereon.
