Abstract
1527844 Spot-type disc brakes BENDIX CORP 24 Feb 1977 [15 March 1976 (2)] 07854/77 Heading F2E In one embodiment for a motorcycle a torque member 58, Fig. 1, has secured to it two pins 46, 52, on which are suspended two friction elements, one being directly operated by actuating means in one limb of a slidable caliper, the other being operated by caliper reaction. The ends of each pin are accommodated in a pair of aligned bores, each such bore being in one or other limb of the caliper. Extensions of the bores provide for extra caliper movement consequent upon frictionelement wear. In Fig. 4 the torque member and caliper are integral, and bolts which secure two halves of the caliper together serve as the abovementioned friction - element - supporting pins. For the necessary sliding, sleeves 174, 176 are attached to a non-rotative portion of a motorcycle, and the torque-member-caliper slides by bores 162, 164.
