Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a clear and easy-to-see picture information by obtaining the skew value of a picture reader and then by correcting the contents of a video memory on the basis of this skew value.
CONSTITUTION: A picture signal inputtd from observation part 30 is written to video memory 21. Projected-image formation circuit 31 forms an image according to angle θ supplied from control circuit 34. Character-width detection circuit 32 obtains character width from the projected image. Then, XY coordinate calculation circuit 35 is supplied from new coordinates X and Y and angle θ from control circuit 34. Calculation circuits 36 to 39 calculates four lattice points surrounding old coordinates x and y. Calculation circuits 40 to 43 calculates a distance between each lattice point and coordinate point. Corrected-picture information obtained from normalization circuit 48 is stored in video memory 49 and then sent to recognition part 50.
