Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent a long work from generating whirling vibration during the high speed lathe machining, by linking one end of rods on the external surface of a draw tube with parallel mechanisms and driving the rods by means of clamping nuts. CONSTITUTION:A draw tube 2, fitted by its one end to a piston mounted in a cylinder 1 of a lathe work feeder, is inserted in a main spindle 4 which combines the cylinder 1 with a chuck 3. Parallel crank mechanisms 6, 7 which compose a pair with three are fitted to positions where the tube's circumference is divided into three equal parts. Slits 8 are also made in the axial direction on the tube 2. Ends on one side of rods 14, 15 put in axial grooves 13, 13A on the tube 2 are linked with to form projections 18, 19 on the rods 14, 15 which are driven by clamping nuts 23 fitted to the grooves 13, 13A. This construction can eliminate the whirling vibration of the work.
