Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a long work from generating whirling vibration during the high speed lathe machining, by linking one end of rods on the external surface of a draw tube with parallel mechanisms and driving the rods by means of clamping nuts. CONSTITUTION:A draw tube 2, fitted by its one end to a piston mounted in a cylinder 1 of a lathe work feeder, is inserted in a main spindle 4 which combines the cylinder 1 with a chuck 3. Parallel crank mechanisms 6, 7 which compose a pair with three are fitted to positions where the tube's circumference is divided into three equal parts. Slits 8 are also made in the axial direction on the tube 2.
