Abstract
PURPOSE: To stabilize the purification treatment of polluted water by judging the variety, amount, etc. of protophyta, etc., by providing an elastomer of a fixed acoustic impedance on the surface of a vibrator sending and receiving acoustic wave in treated water.
CONSTITUTION: In the treatment of polluted water in the biological treatment tank 1, the acoustic wave irradiator 7 and the acoustic wave receiving detector 8 are provided oppositely to the detecting portion 6 of treated water circulating system, consisting of the pump 9 and the pipe 5. In sending and receiving acoustic wave, the silicone rubber elastomers 73 and 74 having much the same value as the acoustic impedance of protophyta in water are provided on the surfaces of the SiO2 vibrator 71 and the LiNbO3 vibrator 81, respectively. Thus, protophyta, etc., can be judged with high accuracy with less reflection of acoustic wave at interface with treated water and aeration amount, the amount of chemicals to add, etc., can be automatically controlled to standard values by the control mechanisms 10 to 14 according to signal from the detector 8.
