Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent spot phenomenon from occurring at a fluorescent lamp without losing starting and luminous flux characteristics thereof by so providing the lamp coated with fluorescent material via a NESA film on the inside surface of a glass tube as to increase the resistance of the NESA film and the thickness of the fluorescent material along tubular axis.
CONSTITUTION: The resistance of a NESA film of and the thickness of the fluorescent material of a fluorescent lamp coated with a transparent conductive film (NESA film) on the inside surface of a glass tube are increased along the tubular axis. A solution of tin tetrachloride or the like is sprayed to form a NESA film on the inside surface of a glass tube having, for example, approx. 32mm of outer diameter and aprox. 1200mm of length as heated to approx. 560°C, and dried. This glass tube is vertically held in a manner that NESA spraying side is upside, fluorescent liquid is flown vertically from the top to coat and dry it to become approx. 0.2kΩ/cm in the vicinity of the tube end at low resistance side of the NESA film, approx. 0.5kΩ/cm at high resistance side, approx. 3mg/cm2 of coated fluorescent material amount at thinner side, and approx. 5mg/cm2 at thicker side.
