Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate occurence of brown black color spot at a fluorescent lamp even after lighting for long time by satisfying special conditions of filled mercury amount and fluorescent material grain size distribution of the lamp coated with fluorescent material via a transparent conductive film on the inside surface of a glass tube.
CONSTITUTION: A fluorescent lamp coated with fluorescent material via a transparent conductive film (NESA film) on the inside surface of a glass tube is so provided as to satisfy 3y≥10x+175, y≥50x-35 and 0<x≤2.5 (within shaded area in a graph) where x represents filled mercury amount (mg/cm3) and y represents rate (%) of the fluorescent material grain size (radius) within mean grainsize ±2μ. 40W rapid start type fluorescent lamp is manufactured by forming a NESA film of tin oxide of approx. 30kΩ in resistance on the inside surface of a glass tube having, for example, approx. 32mm of outer diameter and approx. 1200mm of length, coating white color fluorescent material containing 6μ of mean gran radius and 73% of grain radius of 4W8μ, and filling rare gas and 15mg of mercury.
