Abstract

PURPOSE: To make a transmission device compact, by providing a motive power output member on an output shaft movably fitted on a driving shaft and placing the output member between the butt of the driving shaft and a one-way clutch which connects one gear of a planet gear mechanism to a stationary member.
CONSTITUTION: The driving shaft 11, which is the crankshaft of an internal combustion engine 10, is supported at its butt on a bearing 13 near the engine. A driving plate 17 is integrally screw-engaged with the tip of the driving shaft 11 so that the plate 17 extends perpendicularly to the shaft 11. A starting centrifugal clutch 20 is pivoted to the side of the peripheral part of the driving plate 17. A sprocket 61, which is the motive power output member secured on the output shaft 60, is provided between the butt of the driving shaft 11 and the one-way clutch 50 which couples a casing 12 with the sun gear 43 of the planet gear mechanism 40 located in the outer member 22 of the starting centrifugal clutch 20. The bending moment of the driving shaft 11 is carried by only the bearing 13. This enables reducing the length of the driving shaft and making the entire transmission device compact.
