Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate moisture absorption phenomena due to Na and ensure firm brazing in manufacturing various heat exchangers such as car cooler condensers etc. that use Al (alloy) as a material by forming the brazing jigs etc. used under an inert atmosphere out of Ti (alloy) or Zr (alloy).
CONSTITUTION: The jig 11 for brazing (inclusive of bolts and nuts 11) is formed of, or lined with Ti or Zr (alloys of these metals). Desirably, all the parts exposed to the inert brazing atmosphere of N2, Ar etc. such as the brazing chamber 5, cover 6, rack 7, inert gas inlet pipe 8, exhaust pipe 9 etc. are formed of abovementioned metals or of lining layers of said metals. The fins 12 to be brazed and brazing sheets 13 are laminated alternately and bound with the jig 11. This is placed on the rack 7 which is suspended from the cover 6 and inserted into the brazing chamber 5. Then, it is heated introducing N2 etc. to melt the surface of the sheets 13 and braze mutually with the fins 12.
