Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain treated water of high quality while reducing the amt. of a regenerating agent used by subjecting anion and cation exchange resins to back washing, separation in layers and regeneration in a regeneration tower; packing the esp. highly regenerated lower part of the cation exchange resin layer into the bottom part of a desalination tower; and packing the remaining mixed resin on the above resin.
CONSTITUTION: In the condensed water desalination apparatus of outside regeneration system consisting of desalination tower 1, regeneration tower 4, resin mixing vessel 10 and resin storage vessel 12, ion exchange resins fed into tower 4 are back- washed, separated into upper anion exchange layer 5 and lower cation exchange layers 6, 7, regenerated, and washed with water. Thereafter, layer 7 is packed into the bottom part of tower 1 to form cation exchange resin layer 3. Layer 7 is relatively well regenerated and mixed with little anion exchange resin particles. Remaining layer 6 is mixed with layer 5 and conveyed to tower 1 to form mixed bed type resin layer 2.
