Abstract
PURPOSE:To make uniform the temperature characteristics of crystal oscillation piece of small size, by avoiding the scattering of oscillation energy and improving the value of Q, through the polishment of the crystal chip so that the sectional area near the both ends of crystal oscillator can be smaller than that at the center. CONSTITUTION:The crystal plate 1 is cut off in a given cut-off angle at the Z axis of the crystal and the crystal rod 2 is formed by almost equally cutting off the thickness t and the width w of the crystal plate 1. The crystal rod 3 is formed by chamfering the edges between the major plane 2a and the cut plane 2b of the crystal rod 2. Further, the crystal rod 3 is made into the crystal piece 4 of approximately cylinder by the cylindrical machining such as cylindrical polish machine. The drive electrodes 7 and 8 are formed by evaporation to the crystal piece 4, and it is stored in the air-tight vessel by fitting the holder elements 9 and 10.
