Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an amorphous phosphorus.boron cpd. based on phosphorus and 5W50 times as much boron as phosphorus by MW and having superior heat resistance, weather resistance, light transmissibility, etc. as a protective layer for a thermal head, a semiconductor photodetection head, etc.
CONSTITUTION: In a thermal head an electric current is supplied between electrodes 3, 4 to generate heat from heating resistance layer 2 formed on substrate 1, and this heat is provided to heat sensitive paper 6 relatively connecting to the head with protective layer 5 in-between. Layer 5, is protective layer for a semiconductor photodetection head, or the like requires heat, weather and abrasion resistances. PH3 and B2H6 are mixed so that 5W50 times as much B as P by MW is contained. After adding C, Si, Ti, etc. if necessary layer 5 is produced by a vapor phase growing method at 400W900°C. This cpd, has supeior characteristics as the above protective layer.
