Abstract

PURPOSE: To weld metal plates while revolving a pipe and fabricate the same to involute form by aligning the uppermost layer of the laminated metal plates to the axial center of the pipe.
CONSTITUTION: The laminated steel plates 2 are made to the height at which the steel plate of their uppermost layer aligns to the plane passing the axial center of a pipe 1. Next, while a table 14 is being gradually moved upward at a constant speed, the end edges of the inner side of the respective steel plates 2 and the outside of the pipe 1 are subsequently welded. Then, the welded steel plates 2 detach by subsequently turning from the laminated positions along with the revolution of the pipe 1. When the pipe ends one turn, the steel plate of the lowermost layer is welded, thus the respective steel plates 2 are fabricated to the pipe 1 radially without producing any gap.
