Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the subject method comprising the step of causing a turning air stream to act upon the ends of two yarns arranged by forming a loop thereby to increase the strength of the joint even while shortening the length of the yarn knotted part.
CONSTITUTION: In knotting yarns, firstly the ends of two yarns are formed into loops, and said loops are set in a ring-shape around an air nozzle 1, both yarn ends YU and YL being inserted through a V-slit 2 of the air nozzle 1 into a yarn insertion hole 3. In this state, when air is injected through an air injection tube 4 opening in the tangential direction of the yarn insertion hole 3, air forms a turning air stream within the yarn insertion hole 3, and acts to intertwist both yarn ends with each other and to tie them. According to this method, the rotation of the yarn is checked by the formation of the loop, and the yarn under-goes horizontal vibrations within the hole 3 and merely revolves, thus improving intertwinements of the yarns. Further, holding members 5 and 6 are used for the above described yarn knotting.
