Abstract

PURPOSE: To go upstream without employing power engine by utilizing the torque produced from rotary member which is driven in accordance with the flow speed thus producing the reaction on the guide rope.
CONSTITUTION: Drive shaft 3 is extending vertically from the vessel 1 and a drive roller 4 is secured to the tip of the shaft 3. Guide rope 19 is supported through support 21 along the water path 20. Guide rope 19 is held between the drive roller 4 and the foller rollers 5a, 5b in the propulsion roller equipment. The torque produced from the propeller which rotates in accordance with the flow speed is transmitted through propulsive force generating shaft 11. Upon rotation of the driving shaft 3, the roller 4 rotates forward while applying the friction on the guide rope thus advance the vessel 1 while drawing the guide rope 19.
