Abstract

PURPOSE:To accomplish accurate insertion of ring members into mating shaft bodies in such an arrangement that a ring member is retained with a plurality of fingers radially separated and then, the locking of a link mechanism is released simultaneously with the removal of the external force. CONSTITUTION:An O-ring 51 is retained and conveyed with fingers 6 to 8 provided at the lower end of a key working shaft L. When a force is applied on these fingers in the direction of the key working shaft thereof, the fingers are opened radially by link mechanisms 9 to 11, and the return motion is blocked by a lock mechanism. Under such a condition, the locking is released at the position of grabbing the O-ring 51. As the fingers open, they grasp the O-ring 51 and moves onto the mating shaft body. With the lowing of the body 1, the fingers are pushed against the shaft body 52 to further open. The O-ring 51 stretched in a triangular shape in such a manner is further expanded with the end 52a so as to be inserted into a ring mount groove 53.
