Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an arrangement for motor-driven pump, in which a cam ring is disposed in freely movable manner in a pump spacer constituting the outer periphery of the pump, so as to lower the circumferential speed of vanes or rollers, whereby it is enabled to reduce generation of frictional heat.
CONSTITUTION: Fluid such a fuel is fed into the discharged out of the space in pump by means of cam ring 28 which causes volume change of said space together with rotor 27 driven directly by the armature of motor. The cam ring 28 is disposed in pump spacer 28 in freely movable manner, so that circumferential speed of cam ring 28 is lower than that of rollers 30 which roll along the inner surface of cam ring 28 by the function of centrifugal force. As a result, generation of frictional heat caused over the inner wall surface of spacer 28 can be minimized, so that undesirable effect due to thermal expansion of pump elements and mechanical loss due to friction can be also minimized.
