Abstract
PURPOSE:To surely detect toner deficiency with a simple constitution by detecting the toner replenishing condition of a toner replenishing device from the detection of the decrease in toner concentration and timing pulses. CONSTITUTION:When the toner concentration of a developing device 9 decreases, a toner replenishing signal S is outputted from a toner concentration detecting circuit 8 and a toner replenishing device 1 operates a clutch mechanism 6 by this signal S, whereby the toner replenishment to the developing device 9 is accomplished. The abovementioned signal S is supplied to an AND gate 10, 12 via inverter 11. Also, the timing pulse Tp from a timing pulse generating circuit 13 is supplied to the AND gates 10, 12. A toner deficiency detecting counter 14 counts the outputs of the AND gate 10. When the toner becomes deficient, the counter counts the specified number and the toner deficiency is displayed in a display device 15. When the toner is replenished to the replenishing device 1, the toner is replenished from the replenishing device 1 to a developing device 9. The toner then becomes sufficient.
