Abstract

PURPOSE:To accurately detect both the used length and the residual length of a tape, by calculating the number of rotations of a tape reeel and the running speed, the thickness, etc. of the tape through an arithmetic circuit and using the output signal of operation. CONSTITUTION:The output signal supplied from a rotational frequency detecting means 7 of a tape reel is squared by a squaring circuit 22. The reference signal generating circuits 26 and 28 are added to produce the output signal in accordance with the running speed of the tape along with a tape thickness signal generating means 25. An operation is carried out through arithmetic circuits 27, 29 and 30 for the outputs of the circuit 22, the circuits 26 and 28 plus the means 25 respectively. Thus the residual length and time of the tape is displayed.
