Furthermore, to be more specific, a sheet with increased ability to sustain flavor retention by adsorbing a volatile flavor into a powdery adsorbent and then using the flavor adsorbed material as part of the raw material for recycled sheet cigarettes. ``Prior art and problems'' related to tobacco smoking compositions Generally, in the tobacco manufacturing process, various flavoring agents are added to the raw tobacco leaves, shreds, and shredded ribs to create a unique flavor for each brand. I'm making the most of it. However, some of the fragrances used here are highly volatile and are rapidly volatilized during the raw material processing process, resulting in a reduction in the fragrance effect. In addition, even after the product is made into cigarettes, it gradually evaporates, so the warranty period for the flavor quality is limited. Furthermore, these volatile flavorings become more volatile as the temperature rises, so the flavor changes between immediately after ignition and near the end of combustion during smoking. In particular, when smoking pipe tobacco, the combustion temperature is high, so the flavoring agent tends to be strong and intense at the beginning of smoking, and become weaker and lighter toward the end of smoking. For example, menthol is highly volatile, so
In particular, the above-mentioned tendency is remarkable. Therefore, it is necessary to maintain highly volatile flavoring agents in a stable state, and a technology for this purpose is required.

For example, methods have been proposed in which fragrances are encapsulated in microcapsules, such as encapsulation of synthetic clove oil (US Pat. No. 3,623,489) and encapsulation of menthol (US Pat. No. 3,550,598). In addition, zeolite is impregnated with menthol and added to cigarette filters (Japanese Patent Publication No. 59-17974), and hydrated metal oxides and chelate compounds are occluded with fragrances to be included in smoking materials (Japanese Patent Publication No. 57-22314). A known method is to impregnate or occlude it in a medium or carrier. However, the fragrance retention effect of volatile fragrances obtained by such known methods is not necessarily sufficient, and there are also restrictions on use due to the odor of the holder itself or the fact that the combustor used is not desirable for smoking. There are many things.

The present invention was accomplished by discovering that coating the surface of a carrier material for adsorbed perfume effectively acts to prevent volatilization of the perfume.

This is a sheet-shaped smoking composition characterized by enhanced potency. Here, recycled sheet tobacco refers to powdered tobacco obtained by pulverizing leaf waste and backbone produced in the tobacco raw material/manufacturing process, fibers such as pulp, binders such as CMC and starch, and inorganic materials such as limestone and perlite. It refers to a smoking composition that is reconstituted by appropriately selecting from additives, humectants made of polyols such as glycerin and glycol, and other known smoking compositions. In addition, volatile flavoring agents are commonly used as flavoring agents in tobacco manufacturing, and activated carbon is a powder adsorbent that can be used as a carrier for flavoring agents, as it has a strong ability to retain flavorants (
Moreover, it is optimal because it has no adverse effect on the taste.

ト状喫煙用組成物の製品をうる。Next, a method for manufacturing the sheet-shaped smoking composition of the present invention will be explained. As a fragrance adsorbent, activated carbon is ground to a particle size of 100 mesh or smaller, and the powder is used as it is.
Alternatively, it is used after drying at a temperature of about 200° C. for about 2 hours to remove moisture. Next, menthol, which is the most volatile among the flavorings used as tobacco flavorings, is selected, and the powdered activated carbon is soaked in an ethanol solution in which a predetermined amount of menthol is dissolved, stirred, and left for a while. Enough impregnation and adsorption of fragrance into activated carbon. Note that the impregnation time is 1
0 to 20 minutes is sufficient. The flavor-containing activated carbon thus obtained is blended into the raw material of recycled tobacco in a proportion that will give a predetermined amount of flavor added, and the steps of mixing, molding, and drying are sequentially carried out according to a known method for producing recycled tobacco. A sheet-shaped smoking composition product is obtained.

。"Example-1" Commercially available coconut shell activated carbon was pulverized into fine powder of 100 mesh or less, which was heated and dried for 2 hours in a constant temperature electric dryer at a temperature of 200°C. Meanwhile, put 35 liters of ethanol in a suitable container.
ml, first dissolve 3 g of menthol in it, then add 10 g of the activated carbon with stirring,
Leave to stand for a minute at room temperature to fully impregnate the activated carbon with the menthol solution. Separately, 85 g of a mixture consisting of 15 g of powdered residue as recycled sheet tobacco raw material is prepared. Take 85 g of this mixture and the entire amount of the menthol-adsorbing activated carbon into a suitable container, add 350 ml of water and 12 ml of glycerin.
Add g and mix well to make a slurry. The slurry thus obtained was formed into a sheet and dried using a small-sized slurry sheet forming dryer for testing, to obtain about 100 g of a sheet-like smoking composition having a thickness of 0.15 mm and a basis weight of 82 g/end.

That is, 35 ml of ethanol is placed in a suitable container, and 3 g of menthol is first dissolved therein. Separately, 85 g of a mixture consisting of 15 g of powdered recycled sheet tobacco juice residue is prepared. 85 g of this mixture and the entire amount of the menthol solution are placed in a suitable container, and 350 ml of water and 12 g of glycerin are added thereto and thoroughly stirred and mixed to form a slurry. Approximately 90 g of the slurry thus obtained was obtained using a small-sized slurry sheet forming dryer for testing as a control product having a thickness of 0.15 mm and a basis weight of 80 g/m.

As is clear from Table 1, in the control product, the amount of menthol retained decreased significantly within one month immediately after manufacture, and was only slightly retained; after that, after one month or more after manufacture, menthol was retained. It has not been. On the other hand, in the case of sheet-shaped smoking compositions containing activated carbon, the amount of menthol retained decreased considerably in the first month immediately after production, but after that, only a slight tendency to decrease was observed, and even after 24 months, the amount of menthol retained was significantly reduced. The amount of menthol was maintained to be sufficient to release the amount of menthol.

It was mixed in such a proportion as to be smoked in a pipe. As a result, in the cut pipe tobacco containing the sheet-like smoking composition of the present invention, the cooling sensation of menthol was perceived uniformly and stably from the start to the end of smoking. On the other hand, with chopped pipe tobacco containing the control product, the cooling sensation of menthol was felt strongly at the beginning of smoking, but the cooling sensation weakened and faded as smoking progressed, and by the end of smoking, the cooling sensation of menthol was hardly felt. .

A sheet-shaped smoking composition of the present invention and a control product were produced in the same manner as in Example-1, except that the composition was changed to /2. Each cut was cut into cigarettes, rolled up into cigarettes, stored in an open state in a harmonized room at a temperature of 22°C and a relative humidity of 60%, and smoked at monthly intervals for 24 months to release the menthol. We investigated how long the cooling sensation was maintained. As a result, the cooling sensation of menthol could be perceived even after 24 months in the cigarettes made of the sheet-shaped smoking composition of the present invention. However, the cigarettes of the control product After one month, the cooling sensation of menthol was almost unnoticeable.

The smoking composition exhibits the effect of stably retaining menthol over a long period of time, and when smoking a cigarette containing the smoking composition, the cooling sensation of menthol is uniformly maintained from the start to the end of smoking. Demonstrates the effect of maintaining a stable state.
