Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the consumption power for the production of pulsative flow for stirring and mixing with the purpose of raising the efficiency of extraction, gas absorption, etc., by using a foamed plate of an anticorrosive metal, having a three-dimensional network structure with greater porosity, as the buffle plate of a continuous counterflow pulsation tower.
CONSTITUTION: In a continuous counterflow pulsation tower for liquid liquid extraction and gas absorption, an anticorrosive metal foamed plate having three- dimensional network structure with greater porosity is used as buffle plate. For example, the metal foamed plates 2 are fastened at equal intervals in the tower body 1 and the tower bottom is provided with a pulsative flow inlet from the pulsation generator 4. Heavy liquid is supplied from the head 5 and discharged from the tower bottom 9, and light liquid and gas are introduced from the tower bottom 6, overflowed beyond the sluice of the tower head 7, and then discharged from the outlet 8 for liquid and also from the tower head for gas. Both luquids are pulsated up and down by pulsative flow while being circulated inside the tower and further mixed and stirred by the metal foamed plate as the buffle, whereby enhancing the efficiency of extraction and gas adsorption.
