Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the defect in an electro-unite tube by detecting the position mark, which is applied to the welded portion of the tube, so that the position of an annealing coil after the welding operation is controlled.
CONSTITUTION: The start and terminal ends of the welded portion of an electro- unite tube 1 are detected by an industrial TV so that magnetic position marks 9 and so on are applied to the tube 1 through a controller 11 and a magnetizer 8. Those marks are detected by a Hall element 12, which is placed at a preset position, and the torsion in the tube 1 is calculated by an arithmetic device 13 so that an annealing coil 5 is positioned to face the welded portion through a controlling circuit 14. By the automatic position control of the coil 5, the datisfactory annealing operation is performed to reduce generation of a defective electro-unite tube. The detected signal of the mark 9 by a Hall element 15 is compared by a comparator circuit 17 with the output of the circuit 14 so that warning signals are generated is case the position discrepancy is large with respect to the welding portion of the coil 5.
