Abstract
PURPOSE: To carry out efficiently the chemical conversion treatment of a large box- shape metallic product with concave parts on its roof by providing draining means which incline the product in a degreasing and coating film forming chamber and a multi-stage washing chamber.
CONSTITUTION: A treated object 2 such as a container is transferred into a chamber 3 where degreasing and chemical conversion treatment are carried out, then partition devices 5a and 5b are closed and chemical liquid is sprayed. After a prescribed time, liquid draining means 22a is operated to incline the treated object 2 and flow away chemical liquid gathered in the concave parts of the roof. Next, the treated object 2 is returned horizontally and is transferred to a multi-stage washing chamber 4. In the chamber 4, the first washing is carried out with washing water in a tank 12a, then liquid draining means 22b is operated to incline the treated object 2 and flow away the washing water in the concave parts of the roof. During this operation, the concentration of washing water contaimination is reduced by the overflow water from a tank 12b. After this washing, 2W4 times of washing and draining are applied similarly and then the treated object is transferred to the next process by a conveyer 1.
