Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a new epoxy resin adhesive of rapid cure rate, maintaining good performance at high temperatures, and affording high peel strength, comprising a bisphenol A type epoxy resin and a specific carboxylic acid type polyester curing agent.
CONSTITUTION: The objective adhesive comprising A) a bisphenol A type epoxy resin which is in a solid state at ordinary temperatures (e.g. 23°C) and pref. has an average molecular weight of 2000W6000 and an epoxy equivalent of 1000W4000, and B) a carboxylic acid type polyester prepared by reaction of a) as a curing agent, a poly(≥3) basic acid anhydride such as trimellitic anhydride, with b) a poly (≥3) hydric alcohol such as trimethylol propane in a molar ratio of 0.7 or more (a) to 1 (b).
