Abstract
PURPOSE: To achieve high-degree purification of waste water, by performing tertiary treatment of waste water with bhiological films of microorganisms formed on the surface of mat structure of synthetic resin bristles filled in a cylindrical body made from nonwoven cloth filter.
CONSTITUTION: A treating body 8 is made from bristles 9 having the largest elasticity of all synthetic resin fibers, and the mat structure formed in the shape of sponge cucumber by special method is enveloped with a tubular body made from nonwoven cloth filter 10. Such treating body 8 is connected to a purification tank 1 through water seal trap for air back flow prevention 5 and sedimentation tank 3, and is connected to a blower 15 through air feed pipe 16, being thus constitutted to promote growth of aerobic microorganisms. As a result, the waste water after primary and secondary treatment in the purification tank 1 passes through the biological films of microorganisms grown on the surface of the bristels 9, and the ammonia form nitrogen is decomposed and purified in this process.
