Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce steel pipes having a thick, firm plating layer formed on the steel pipe surface, by forming multiple concave and convex parts on the steel pipe surface to increase the surface area so as to intensify the plating molten metal holding force of the surface and facilitate fixing of plating layer.
CONSTITUTION: A hoop steel 1 is sent to a cleaning unit 7 through a looper 7, and after cleaning, abrasives are injected 17a to 17c, 17'a to 17'c in a blast chamber in a shot blast unit 9, so that multiple concave and convex parts having depths of several to scores of μ and diameters of several to hundreds of μ are formd on the surface of the hoop steel.
