Abstract
PURPOSE: To perform Mn electroplating economically, by detecting Mn concn., pH, quantity of liq. of a plating bath in order to replenish Mn source, and by use of insoluble electrodes.
CONSTITUTION: Hoop 1 to be plated is delivered through energized rolls 2 into an electroplating tank 3 having insoluble electrodes 4 inside, then the hoop is removed of excessive plating solution with seueezing rolls 5, and is transferred to the next step. The plating solution 7 is delivered by a pump P1 from a storage tank 6 through an inlet 8 into a plating tank 3. Mn concn. of the plating bath is detected by an electromagnetic densitometer 16, the pH by a pH meter 15, and the quantity of the solution by a level gauge 11, water and Mn being replenished through control units 13, 14 respectively through a water-supply valve 12 or from Mn source unit 9. This apparatus is very economical because it reduces greatly labors.
