Abstract

PURPOSE: To keep high conductivity of plating bath, thus, to cut consumed electric power in electroplating steel sheet or the like by controlling adding quantity of an adjusting agent for electric conductivity by measuring the electric conductance, temperature of a plating solution and the hydrogen ion concentration in the solution.
CONSTITUTION: Solution in a plating vessel 1 is sacked by a pump 3 and is sampled, and its electric conductance and pH value are measured with a conductivity meter 4 and a pH-meter 5 respectively. Further, temperature of the solution is measured at a detection point 6 for temperature of the solution, then all of these measured values are transmitted into an operation device 7. On the other hand, the measured values of concentration of a solution in a delivery tank 8 for the Glauber's salt is also transmitted into the device 7. The device 7 calculates a demanded quantity for the Glauber's salt from these measured values. Then the Glauber's salt to be consumed is delivered into the vessel 1 through a distribution tube 11 as a control valve 10 is made to subject to on-off control through a controller 9. An item 12 is a timer with which said control is so carried out every 2hr repeatedly as to naintain the objective conductivity.
